Lebanon emerges victorious in a 5-0 win

In a thrilling showdown between the Lebanon Women's National Team and the Puerto Rico Women's National Team, Lebanon emerged victorious in a dominant 5-0 win, setting the stage for an exciting third and final game in the series. From the opening face-off, Lebanon showed their determination, controlling the game and creating scoring opportunities.



The first period saw Lebanon take an early lead with two quick goals. Anya Hafez struck first at 12:10, followed shortly by Lea Salem at 11:43, assisted by Hafez, putting Lebanon up 2-0. Both teams showed their physicality with minor penalties for roughing, but Lebanon maintained their composure and kept Puerto Rico off the scoreboard.


In the second period, Lebanon continued to apply pressure, drawing penalties from Puerto Rico. Despite being down a player, Puerto Rico's defense held strong, limiting Lebanon's scoring chances.



The third period was all Lebanon, as they capitalized on their opportunities. Aya Hafez scored an unassisted goal at 11:46, extending Lebanon's lead to 3-0. Anna Daniel added to the tally at 10:04, assisted by Lea Salem, making it 4-0. Brie Eid sealed the victory with a power play goal at 5:17, assisted by Ava Eid, bringing the final score to 5-0 in favor of Lebanon.


Lebanon's strong performance in game two sets the stage for an exciting third game in the series. With their offense firing on all cylinders and their defense standing tall, Lebanon looks to carry this momentum into the final game. Puerto Rico, on the other hand, will be eager to bounce back and get their first win of the series. Puerto Rican goaltender Juliana Rodgers was stout in net turning away 35 shots in a valiant effort.
